Primary and Cultured Cells
Primary cells are cultures of cells isolated directly from tissue sources and resemble closely to the parental tissue by having the same karyotype. Primary cells usually have a limited lifespan and often requires particular nutrients (e.g., cytokines and growth factors) at defined concentrations. We offer ready-to-use primary PBMC, hepatocytes, epithelial cells frozen at passage 0, and fresh isolated primary cells upon request. Primary cell products are characterized for viability, cell count, and purity, if applied. Donor specifications including ethnicity, gender, BMI, smoking status etc. are documented and provided upon request.
Unlike primary cells, although not always accurately replicate the primary source, cell lines originated from tumors or tissues proliferate rapidly in vitro and are widely used in studying biological processes. We offer many conventional cell line products in formats of cryopreserved stock in cryovials or living cells in culture flasks.
